10 days late is better than never right? Haha. Normally I do a huge self-reflection for the year and what I have done and how I have failed and what I could learn from that. Quite honestly, I have not felt the emotions to properly write that post, and I think I will do a self-reflection later on in January. For now, I wanted to share what I am thankful for from 2018 and what I want to do in 2019.
In 2018, I made new friends, said goodbye to old, and left my family for 11 months. I made a list of everyone who I wanted to specifically highlight, while many more make this list, and it became so large that I did not know if I would have time to give the proper thanks. I want to show them with actions, but for now, here are my (slightly funny) six word descriptions of my favorite people:
Disclaimer some of the words are imaginary, are technically shortened versions of two-four words and are not grammatically correct! I am sorry to my previous English teachers, truly.
Caroline: Old pain in the rear (ilysm).
Maggie: Always naturally communicative and thoughtfully passionate.
Annabel: Artist, engineer, mathematician, I’m quite jealous.
Caleb: Blunt to no end and sarcastic :)
Mya: Open minded willing to learn soccerextraordinar.
Ananya: Outspoken successful person I’m proud of.
Yashvi: Witty banter and friend of Ritvik.
Jim: Dependable, and always willing to talk.
Hope: Too kind, deep, poetry enthusiast.
Lunch Buddies: Amazing group of funny, witty, friends.
Yesibel: Her stubborn intellectual actions amazes me.
John: The grind doesn’t stop apparently lol.
Mom: Survivor, Amazing Race, Jeopardy — I miss this.
Dad: Computer scientist with loud laugh.
Anika: No one can top this meeshk.
Nikasha: my nerdy-in-a-good-way favorite 5’11 inspiration
Aneesa: Oh my lord such good artist.
Darshan: Car genuis I love very much.

Grandma: Talkative loving ‘white grandma’ I love.
Lorraine: Bookworm night owl; ultimate pain tolerance.
Jill: Enthusiastic sporty bacon loving ex-nun.
Baa: Such amazing food, love, and conversations.
Dada: Did not tell us he retired (lol).
Host family: So loving and I’m extremely thankful.
Johor Group: We love our moms very much.
Malaysia American Cohort: Great cohort and willing makeup testers.
Exchange Friends: What would I do without you?
En Xi: Lover of British accents; my fav.
Xin Xuan: diligent pronunciation queen; always sleepy :)
Z Ting: Better at add math I guess… (at least at derivatives hmmp.)
Hin Yong: Surprisingly tall; loud; laughing often.
Shi Ni: Quiet patient English to Malay translator (who I appreciate very much).
PPC: Intelligent learner who will go far.
5SN: Funny class I like being apart off!
