This year, Malaysia AFS celebrated their 60th anniversary by hosting a gala dinner where the current exchange students and volunteers were supposed to perform at. If anyone knows me, you would know that I am not a dancer. But there I was, putting in hours every day to practice five traditional dances that represented the cultures of Malaysia. We performed traditional Malay, Indian, Sabahan, Sarawak, and Chinese dances in front on basically the entirety of AFS Malaysia. Surprisingly the dancing did not go badly and I had a great time laughing and messing up with all of my exchange friends. When we were not dancing, I joined the rest of the Americans and the Italians and explored Kuala Lumpur. Overall, it was just a great time to see all of my friends and make memories. (Also shoutout to my Germans, we didn’t hang out with them outside of dance class but I still love ya’ll and can’t wait for our makeshift Thanksgiving) Let’s try to cram into one car with 11 people again sometime, okay? Okay :)
