Yesterday we were in the grocery store and there were two different colored watermelon! We had been eating yellow and red watermelon at the hotel and it was really cool because even though they look completely different in color and seed size they actually taste the exact same. I have been trying for awhile to get my family to go on vacation in South East Asia because I really want to try different types of bananas besides the ones that we have in the U.S. In America we only have one type of banana, we used to have two put one of the species ended up going extinct due to a virus. Even though they aren’t the bananas I have been wanting to try, different colored watermelons were equally as exciting. Hopefully I will get to try some bananas soon! After durian of course. The past week at the hotel has been a lot of fun and very interesting. We have gone out into KL a couple of times and have visited a few markets. WE have also been to two supposedly small malls that are easily two times bigger than any mall close to me in America. When we aren’t going around the city we are in our language lessons. The language lessons have been very helpful and have already helped me make out what signs say around the city. I definitely wish I was better at the language though. I’ve learned in the past few days that not all of the words really stick in my mind like they do for some people. How entirely dissapointing. I’m sure with more practice I will
eventually be able to remember the word for stop lol.

I lived in Southeast Asia for a year and we had these wonderful sweet bananas about half the size of the bananas in the USA. Have you seen anything like that
